50′s HairstylesIt was a very early time as compared to now therefore the funky styles were not seen often. This was more a developing period and the world was coming out once again after the warfare. So that time was not so glamorous. Ladies and even girls often keep shot hair. The women had to work and the prefer having easily manageable hair. A French pleat was also maintained by some, in which hair were tied with a pin. This style is still popular. And a chignon cut in which a bun was made and secured with a pin was also popular amongst women at that time.
Bouffant was the part of very fancy cuts of that time. In this style the long waves out of hair were hanging out of the area covered by the crown.
Elvis Presley gave a blow to the sideburn cut. Though side burns were very hard to manage, but people preferring style more than convenience used to wear sideburn. Boys often prefer short hair cuts or layers at their head. D.A. was another popular hairstyle amongst boys in which they used to comb hair in backward position and set it at the place. The original name of the hairstyle was Ducktail or the duck butt as it looked like duck butts from the back.
