In 50s making hairstyles was a time consuming process but in 70s it was simplified although styles were more attractive. 1970 was a considered pretty glamorous at that time. There was no straightening lotion or such creams available at that time. Hence women use to straighten their hair with ordinary cloth irons. In order to achieve smooth straight hair women iron their hair slowly and carefully. Women used to keep long hair due to wavy hair.

Another hairstyle was shaggy which is still seen. In this, the layers were made of hair in a messy look. Nowadays it is a little modified.
Bobs were famous too at that time. Bobs can be done at any hair length ranging from a boy cut to even hair length ill shoulders. The best part of this hairstyle is that it doesn’t need much time to dress hair or look after. Bob haircut also goes well with curly hair. But for more attractive look the hair length must be a bit long at least till shoulders.
Another hit hair style that had its importance many decades long was Retro style. The hairstyle is not much popular nowadays.
The most outdated style today of 70s is disco wedge cut. People are even afraid of the style now.
Mullet was one of the popular hairstyles of 1970s amongst men. It was a bit adopted by women also. The hair was trimmed short from the sides and front leaving a bit longer at the back. Kids or youth preferred a page cut. It is a mixture of fluffy and curly hair.

Famous celebrities also had a great impact on the popularity of hairstyles. The renowned personality had a feather cut and made it popular with her name.

It was very easy to maintain. Just drying your hair from either sides and underneath to make hair fluffier and then blow the hair around your face to give a feather look. Nothing complicated to achieve the hairstyle.
Amongst youth, a simple and agile hairstyle with a center partition was also applied by many people. It is more for the boy’s side, but girls even looked good.
